Campus Today

Opened in 1964, MiraCosta College’s Oceanside Campus is located on a 121-acre hilltop with panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. The campus offers diverse landscapes, from sloped areas with native plantings to the level campus core where the original campus buildings were constructed.

Students and faculty enjoy the open spaces on campus but express the lack of a defined sense of entry, causing way-finding issues for new and prospective students and visitors.

Oceanside Campus Today

Development History

Dating back to the 1960's, the Oceanside Campus has grown beyond the original campus core and development has expanded in all directions.

Over the years, buildings were constructed to support growing student enrollment, program expansion or to replace aging facilities in new and modern environments.

A number of original buildings still remain on campus and were carefully considered during the planning process to determine the long-term recommendations as part of this Facilities Futures Plan.
